As the first born and only boy I was desperate for someone to play with. I soon realized that I needed some siblings (teamates) to spend time with (retrieve soccer balls) on those lonely afternoons. Then my younger sisters (goalie, back-up goalie, and defender) were born and I found myself spending all of my free time (all day) instructing them (holding mandatory practices) on the finer points of soccer (when it was safe to cross the street to retreive the ball). Even to this day they smile (shake involuntarily) whenever we reminice about all of the fun (mandatory fun) we had on those golden (eternal) afternoons. Below is a video of a boy in need of a team much like I was. In fact it is so similiar to my childhood story I could probably (plan to) sue.

The Wait Is Over
Just last week Alison came home with the "holy grail" of treats. The "michael jordan" of chocolaty goodness. Yes, even that "super bowl" of seasonal splendor that graces our grocer's shelves but for a moment before it leaves us behind with nothing but sticky colored foil in our pockets, and a greater resolve to finish that time machine we have been working on to suspend the creamy bliss. The aficionados know by now that I am talking about....Cadbury Eggs (cue the singing naked angel babies). Below is the commercial that started my six year old self down the path of addiction, and forever confused me about where baby rabbits come from. Enjoy!

Your Anytime Movie

Not much beats an evening in with a good movie, particularly on cold stormy evenings like the ones we've had lately. The smell of homemade caramel popcorn, the dimmed lights, and comfortable clothes all convincing you that all of those productive things that you had to do can wait. This entry is about your Anytime Movie. That favorite movie that you seem to be in the mood for no matter what. This image is from Disturbia which happens to be my current go-to film whenever I'm looking to escape from work or similar evils. It has just the right mix of humor, suspense, and action to help you weather the storms outside or in your work week. Feel free to comment on what movie you reach for.
Funny Flashback
Down here in The Basement I will occasionally dust off funny gems that have made us laugh in the past. I like this show because it is about nothing and anything, and the hilarious situations that occur could conceivably happen in our everyday life. Below is a blooper real that is sure to inspire you to dust off your collection of Seinfeld seasons, or perhaps just remind you to call that eccentric friend who seems to live in an alternate dimension. If I get any calls from any of you out of the blue I'm not answering.

Tribute to Johnny
In my opinion Johnny Cash was one of The Greats. If I were a musician I would like to think that my sound would be like his. He will be missed. Below is a video of artists who were influenced by the man in black. I apologize ahead of time for Kate Moss being in this clip. I'm pretty sure the song in this video is a warning to people like her.
